Our Mission

Welcome to the Pastel Art Society of Atlantic Canada!  We’re a friendly and welcoming group of pastel artists and enthusiasts who share a passion for this versatile medium.  Based in beautiful Atlantic Canada, we celebrate both the unique artistic talents of our region and the stunning landscapes that surround us.

At the heart of our Society is the belief that art should be inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. Our mission is to create a space where pastel artists of all skill levels can come together, share ideas, and grow in their practice. Whether it’s through casual meetups, workshops, or more formal exhibitions, we’re committed to offering opportunities that help you improve your craft, learn new techniques, and expand your artistic horizons.

One of our main goals is to foster a strong sense of community among pastel artists in Atlantic Canada. We believe that art is better when it’s shared, so we organize events where members can showcase their work, exchange ideas, and build connections. Our exhibitions give artists a chance to display their pastel works in public spaces, allowing them to share their visions with a wider audience.

We promote pastel art both within our region and beyond. We recognize that pastel painting is an underappreciated medium at times, and we’re here to change that.  So, whether you’re here to find inspiration, improve your skills, or simply enjoy the company of fellow pastel lovers, the Atlantic Canada Pastel Society is the place for you.
